Jurgen Klopp has confirmed Roberto Firmino won’t be available for Liverpool’s Champions League semi final 2nd leg against Villarreal on Tuesday evening..
The forward was recently absent with a foot injury suffered in the Reds’FA Cup victory over Manchester City last month. The knock kept him out of subsequent games against Newcastle, Everton, Villarreal and Manchester United.
Liverpool had a 2-0 lead entering the second leg in midweek, but Klopp was keen to dismiss any suggestions that the Reds had reached the final.
“If I had been young I would have been very furious with the question!,” he said when asked whether the task was done.
“no, of course. It’s only half time. We need to go there and attempt to win, realizing that they are going to go (Vilarreal) with everything they’ve.
“It’s a semi-final, so it ought to be tough. We were never expecting it to be easy. However we played a great game at home and now we have to play a good game away. ”
Klopp added: “experience and maturity are crucial, but not the sole decisive thing.” Everything we are going to be tomorrow night is required.
“We need to be prepared to play a great, great game. They are going to try to lay a lot more football than we permitted them to in the first game.
“Unai will certainly try to adapt some things.” It’ll really be interesting. Maturity is essential, but it isn’t the only thing..
