It’s thought that Ronaldo’s present situation at Manchester United and the thought of the Portuguese moving to Chelsea this summer were among the topics of discussion during the meeting between the pair.

37-year-old Ronaldo is heading into the final season of his present deal at United after he made the sensational return to Old Trafford last summer after leaving the club thirteen years ago.

It has additionally been reported that Ronaldo has a huge affinity with Manchester United and doesn’t have a problem with the new manager Erik 10 Hag.

In an interview with the Associated Press, Ronaldo said: “I was glad to be here, and I am still very happy.

I know that Ten Hag has done a great job with Ajax and is a seasoned coach, but we have to give him time and allow him to change the way we want.

“I’m hoping we’ll succeed. I wish him all the best. We’re very happy and very excited. Let’s hope that we will win trophies next year. I think Manchester United will be right where they belong. It sometimes takes time, though I still believe.”

Ronaldo, who really likes the club, is thought to be frustrated with the club’s inability to make any progress on the transfer market. Although rivals Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool have all added quality for their squad, United are yet to take in anybody..

After deciding to send Romelu Lukaku to Inter Milan on a season – long loan, Chelsea will be looking for an attacker.

Would Ronaldo shock everyone by leaving Manchester United for a Chelsea rival? Just time will tell..
